This drama just started airing in early May, so we are still waiting with bated breath. As expected, he is extremely suave and cool in this role. The pixie-faced good-looker plays Myul Mang, a powerful messenger between gods and humans, who is tired of his fate and decides to fulfil Dong-kyung's wish to end the world. Is Park still watchable without her wide-eyed expressions and ditsy persona? Very much so, yes. The princess of cutesy roles (see Strong Girl Bong-soon) ditches her comedic doll image to play a more tragic character-a woman named Tak Dong-kyung, who finds out she has only three months left to live and wishes for the world to be doomed, like her. Plot: Meet the two fearless men willing to go to extreme lengths in their pursuit of a serial killer that has shaken up. It’s received rave reviews for the chemistry between the two leads and their solid acting chops, as well as its masterful plotting and riveting storyline. Not all K-dramas are made equal, and we’ve all watched those with paper-thin plots and laughable acting-and not in a good way. The plot is tight and the acting is stellar. Lee Do-hyun plays Shin’s character in his younger years. Yeo Jin-goo and Lee Do-hyun, who both romanced IU in Hotel Del Luna, reunite in this drama about two men-a police sergeant (played by Shin Ha-kyun) and an elite detective (Yeo Jin-goo)-who team up to catch a serial killer, while breaking the law and discovering their own dark sides in the process. It may have flown under the radar of some K-drama fans, as it’s a moody thriller and not your usual easy-to-watch, light-hearted romance, but there’s a good reason it took home the big prize at Baeksang. It also garnered a Best Actor trophy for its lead, Shin Ha-kyun. Season 1 of Beyond Evil is coming to Netflix in the US, UK, Australia, Canada, and several other countries on June 15, 2021.It just won Best Drama at the 57th Baeksang Arts Awards. Fortunately, it’s very intriguing, so go ahead and start watching! Mostly thanks to the amazing characters and brilliant, unapologetic, acting of its core cast. While Beyond Evil could easily be written off as just another “murder mystery” or “serial killer story”, it has a lot more to offer. It doesn’t matter one bit though because this is absolutely amazing! What a way to break onto the international stage for these two South Korean creators. The writer is Kim Su-jin and I’m afraid I don’t know anything about their previous work either. The director of season 1 of Beyond Evil is Shim Na-yeon and I’m not familiar with any of the previous work by this director. Joo-Won however, rejects this and instead decides he’ll just have to be reborn. He tells Joo-Won he won’t be able to win against Dong-Sik, especially given how smart he is, and offers to take over for him. We’re in Busan as Joo-Won visits Kwon Hyeok.
